In our fast-paced, busy lives, where we see signs with "Keep Calm and Carry On" are posted around workplaces and resilience is the word of the hour, stress has become normalised. Filing stress and trauma away for later and putting on a strong front is not resilience; it is a recipe for burnout or a breakdown. So make the time to talk to someone, release the stress and put love into yourself. The PERMA + Self-Care Model advises that we need positive emotions, engagement in enjoyable activities, positive relationships, meaning or a sense of purpose and feelings of accomplishment. We also need sleep and physical exercise.
